Overview
The key role of Assurance Senior Manager is to manage the Firm’s audit clients in accordance with the guidelines set out by the firm and ensure that work done is in accordance with the BDO Audit Methodology and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
Responsibilities
- Deliver assurance engagements with proper quality and on time;
- Manage and develop people, foster teamwork;
- Manage client satisfaction;
- Ensure timely billing and collection;
- Develop business and generate additional leads;
- Ensure relevant ethics requirements are followed;
- Ensure execution of polices and procedures;
- Deploy new technologies and increase efficiency;
- Be mindful of professional liability.
Performance metrics
- Compliance with quality standards as evidenced by results of various quality reviews (engagement quality review (EQR), engagement inspection programme (EIP). regulatory review, BDO Global review);
- Portfolio sustainability and profitability;
- Lead generation;
- People development and retention;
- Compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (preferably UK chartered accountant or US CPA);
- At least eight years of recent experience in external audit services;
- Working knowledge and practical skills in IFRS/ISAs/ISQM;
- IFRS financial statements preparation skills;
- Fluency in English and Arabic;
- Being well-organised, good planning and communication skills;
- Leadership and team management skills;
- Business acumen and commercial skills;
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
